The Institute is the University’s answer to the challenge of technical and practical knowledge of all topics regarding the human being and family dynamics. It involves going from the desire of doing things for the family – because “family is very important", which is an undoubted fact -, to getting scholars to participate, each from his/her field of expertise, towards elaborating research projects with interdisciplinary features, along with colleagues from other academic areas.

The Institute sees family from the point of view of sciences (a characteristic of university work): this is the innovative answer. An in-depth study of family – and thus, of marriage – evidences the great complexity of its understanding both in its constitutive aspect as well as in its dynamism. As a consequence, fundamental matters such as the structure of the human being and its intrinsic sexual reference (the sexed nature in that which is masculine and feminine within the human body), the trendy human dynamics such as love, marriage and interpersonal relationships which constitute consanguinity; among others arise.
