The Institute of Family Sciences at the University of Piura aims at becoming protagonist of changes implying a more complete knowledge of the marital and family-related realities, being a support as well as a reference point for the definition of government and civil society politics in their most diverse actions with regards to the mentioned realities.

Mission

The Institute of Family Sciences aims in a fundamental way to encourage scientific investigation in the fields of marriage and family, to spread knowledge through publications and the design of development programs and the conduction of academic guidance.

No real understanding of the family can be achieved unless there is serious in-depth study in the reality which originates it: love, as its true source of unity and force. Because of this, it is the Institute’s mission to understand what it means to love, that is, to comprehend what the giving of people in marriage is, responsible love at the service of fatherhood and motherhood, the authentic greatness of generation and education. To understand both man and woman, who constitute a common being (co-being) when marrying and who integrate a joined-life project, when forming a family.
